Personal Information Protection Policy

TMJ Japan handles personal information in various formats in the execution of our translation/interpretation operations, Web business operations, and particularly in the information provision services of our Web business. Given our responsibilities as a corporation that performs such business activities, we must establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an information security management system (ISMS), and manage and handle all personal information based on a reliable management organization and safe control procedures. Furthermore, with the observance of laws, regulations, and/or orders relating to the protection of personal information constituting our basic corporate philosophy and customer trust and support identified as the primary factors contributing to further company expansion, we make it our mission to appropriately manage personal information and utilize the information according to the wishes of our customers. TMJ Japan, therefore, has established a “Personal Information Protection Policy,” and continually keeps in mind and makes known to all employees and individuals involved in our operations its content outlined below, making every effort to appropriately protect the personal information with which we are entrusted.

Policy Related to Personal Information Protection

Each and every employee of TMJ Japan recognizes the importance of personal information protection, and acquires, utilizes, and provides such information lawfully and through fair means within the scope necessary for the purpose of our business activities. In addition, we will never use personal information for purposes other than the original intent. Should the need arise to use such information for purposes other than the original intent, we will first obtain consent for the newly added purpose.
TMJ Japan will handle personal information in good faith, observing laws, regulations, and/or orders relating to the protection of personal information (hereinafter “Laws and Regulations”) as well as the personal information protection management system. In addition, we will make every effort to continually identify, make known to our employees engaged in our company activities (hereinafter “Employees”) as well as our clients, and observe these Laws and Regulations.
TMJ Japan will construct safety and preventative measures that are technically and organizationally reasonable against threats such as leakage, loss, and destruction of personal information. Additionally, we will periodically implement inspections, take prompt corrective action in response to any identified infraction, incident, or accident, and implement preventative measures in response to shortcomings. We will devote considerable resources to educating our clients about safety.

When TMJ Japan receives complaints or inquiries regarding the handling of personal information or our personal information protection management system, we will appropriately and promptly respond. In addition, we will establish a system of organization and procedures, and maintain an organization capable of continual appropriate response.
To ensure appropriate use and protection of personal information, we will monitor and audit the observance of internal regulations, make every effort to identify infractions, incidents, and shortcomings, and conduct reviews by managers. We will then reflect the results in control measures and internal regulations, thereby continually reviewing and improving our personal information protection management system. Such improvements will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information as well as Laws and Regulations.
